The Miami Pro Championship Event
Yesterday I attended the Miami Pro Championship Event, the UK’s
largest fitness competition. It was an honor to be invited by the beautiful
Angie Weston and to promote her magazine, Miami Pro. My article “How to
De-Stress Yourself” will actually be in the Spring 2013 Edition of the
magazine.
Angie Weston and I at the Miami Pro Championship Event!
The Miami Pro Championship Event started at 2pm. During the
show, I assisted the talented host, Audrey Kaipio in organizing the athletes on
stage. It was not as easy of a job as it may seem. I had to be very assertive in
making sure that the athletes were behaving on stage, standing correctly, and
led on and off of the stage at the appropriate times. Whatever happened the
show had to continue, and indeed it did!
The competing athletes prepared for months with diet, exercise,
and posing routines. Their hard work paid off, as everybody looked great.
Overall, it was an amazing day. It was a blast to see the arena
full of spectators cheering on their loved ones. I was so inspired by the
hundreds of athletes who were so committed to achieving their perfect body
through diet and exercise.

Looking Back on NYC And Arriving in London!
What an amazing experience I had in NYC. I've just landed in London and I already miss my American family!
Arriving in London:
After spending all night red-eyed and landing at 6:30am London time, I deserve an Espresso. I am Italian after all!
My Coffee and I
Coffee has a bad reputation, but I believe in everything in moderation. Coffee is a natural fat burner and rich in antioxidants. It reduces the risk of cirrhosis of the liver and some types of cancer.
However, coffee can also have laxative and dehydrating effects. To avoid these adverse affects, don't drink more than 2 cups per day. Also drink plenty of water to keep your body hydrated, especially after a long flight!
In addition to coffee, my post-flight routine includes stretching, a 90-min massage, and a protein-rich meal with lots of greens. This routine helps me to replenish my body with some goodness and get back on track quickly!

A Delicious Nicoise Salad at Balthazar NYC
Today Emily, Anna, and I spent some
quality time at the NYC restaurant Balthazar! There, I ordered a delicious Niçoise
salad. The plate was full of nutrition and vibrant colors!
- Tuna
- Anchovies
- Eggs
- Avocado
- Olives
- Fennel
- Green Beans
- Red and Yellow Peppers
- Rocket Leaves
The tuna and anchovies are a great source of protein. In addition, the avocado, olives, and egg yokes provide good fats. Fennel aids digestion. Lastly, green beans, pepper, and rocket leaves contain fiber. Another healthy and nutritious meal!
Remember even on your
busiest of days to take the time to eat a well-balanced meal. You’ll thank me
later!

Another Busy Day in the City!
Yesterday I had to interview a few fitness professional for an upcoming project in NYC.
I knew it would have a long and busy day, so I made sure to start my day with a power breakfast. Therefore, I had Buckwheat Noodles with Alaskan Wild Salmon. That kept me full and energized for hours, because it is the perfect combination of protein, carbohydrates, and Omega 3 (healthy fat). Many people do not think of these as breakfast foods, but if you have a super busy day ahead, you must have a 'Queen Breakfast!'
Breakfast Fit for a Queen!
It was so much fun to interview so many clever people who were excited about what we are doing. Everyone I interviewed was passionate about healthy eating and an elegant way of exercising that respects your body and relaxes your mind. They all understood that balance is key!
After I finished MY interviews in the early afternoon, I went for a walk to get some oxygen circulating in my body before hitting the gym. Then I visited the grocery store for some healthy goodies before making another earthy meal. I love good, nutritious, home-made food!

Sweet Breakfast Recipe
Here is a recipe for a yummy and nutritious Sweet Breakfast to kick start your morning:
1/4 Cup of Oats
A few slices of Banana
1 scoop of Chocolate Whey Protein
1 tbs of Peanut Butter
A Blackberry
Sprinkle of Cinnamon
A few slices of Banana
1 scoop of Chocolate Whey Protein
1 tbs of Peanut Butter
A Blackberry

Each ingredient provides valuable nutrients: The oats fuel your brain, banana offers potassium and extra fiber, whey protein fuels your muscles, and peanut butter contains healthy fat. Sprinkle cinnamon on top for its fat-burning properties and amazing taste. Add a blackberry to make it pretty!
Buon Appettito!
